1. Welcome Benefit
Coming to the features of this HDFC Bank UPI Rupay Credit Card, if you use this credit card for buying groceries or for shopping in Supermarket or had a dine-in in restaurants, then you scan the Merchant QR code at those outlet and can spend with this credit card.
For all these spends, you will get 3% Cashpoints.
Here, Cash points = Reward points

Also, No matter what transactions you do on HDFC Payzap app, you will get 3% Cashpoints on the Purchase value.
Moreover, if you pay Utility bills like Power bills, Water bill, Internet bills by using this HDFC UPI Rupay Credit Card, you will get 2% Cash points on the value you paid.
You will get 1% Cash points on all other remaining spends made through this credit card.
2. Interest free credit period
This HDFC UPI Rupay Credit card comes with a Credit period of 20 days to 50 days.
It means, by using this UPI Credit card and paid any transaction, then, you will not incur any interest charges for a period upto 50 days from the date of the purchase transaction. i.e. Zero Interest charges upto 50 days
But is to be noted that Zero Interest charges won’t be applicable, in case if you have not fully cleared this UPI Credit card’s previous month’s outstanding balance.
3. Annual fees reversal
If you want this HDFC UPI credit card, you will be charged with Rs.99+GST as a Joining fees.
Moreover, If you spend Rs.25,000/- or more in the previous financial year, then, you are not supposed to pay Renewal fees of Rs.99+GST for the next year.
Simply, Zero Renewal Fees.
My analysis
Generally, some Credit cards reverse the Annual fees only if you spend Rs.1,00,000/- annually, but in this case spending Rs.25,000/- annually seems reasonable.
4. Contactless Card feature
This HDFC Bank UPI Rupay Credit Card is a Virtual credit card only it means you won’t get a Physical Credit card.
HDFC UPI Credit card comes with Contactless technology. However, In India, you can make payment using this credit card at the Point of Sale (POS) Machine for a Maximum Payment Rs.5,000/- per transaction without entering the PIN number.
If you want to make a payment of more than Rs.5,000/-, then, this card holder should input the Credit card PIN number to complete the payment.
5. Can I convert any Transaction into EMI ?
Which Purchase transactions can be converted into EMI?
If you find it difficult to pay the amount you have spent on any transaction with more than Rs.10,000/-, then, you can convert it into EMI for up to a period of 9 months, for which you will be charged with 20% annual interest.
My analysis
Rs. 10,000/- is a bit big amount. Generally, some banks like IDFC First bank allow transactions above Rs.2,500 can be converted into EMI. So, it’s better if this limit is reduced to benefit the customers.

6. Reward Benefits
When it comes to Reward Points, by using HDFC UPI Credit card you can an earn rewards in the form of Cash Points.
And 1 Reward Point / Cash point = Rs. 0.25/- paisa.
If you buy Groceries worth Rs.1,000/-, then, you get 3% Cash Points on it. So, you will get 30 cash points for Rs.1,000 rupees.
It is to be noted that there is a chance to earn Maximum 500 Cash points only in one calendar month. So, 500 cash points total worth is Rs.125/-
The Cash Points can can be redeemed within 2 years from the date of the accumulation otherwise it will be expired.
You can also use these reward points for Flights and Hotel bookings, if you have a minimum Rs.500/- worth of cash points. Otherwise, you cannot redeem your Cash points.
Also, if you want to redeem the reward points, you will have to pay Rs.99/- per Redeem Request. Remember this point.
7. Add-on-card
If anyone in your family wants this HDFC Rupay credit card, then, they will provide you with an Add-on-card which is Life time Free Credit card.
How can I make payment in any UPI app, Phone Pay, Paytm, Google Pay with this UPI Credit card?
– For that, after you taking this HDFC Rupay credit card, you can add this Credit card in HDFC Pay Zap app and give all this Credit card details, you can add this.
– However, you can also add this Credit card in UPI apps like Phone Pay.
– After adding, you can use Pay Zap app or these UPI apps to make payment by scanning the receiver QR code and select the Credit Card option and Complete the payment.
My analysis
When you are money crunch or if you feel that there is no chance of getting money from any other source, then, you can use this Credit card option and can make payment at such a time only.

HDFC UPI Rupay Credit Card Charges [Must Read]
1. Cash Withdrawal charges
The HDFC UPI Rupay Credit card holders should pay Joining fees of Rs.99+GST and Renewal Fees of Rs.99+GST
2. Interest charges
You have used this Credit card and bought all the stuff you need.
But you don’t have enough money to pay the Credit Card Outstanding amount.
Then, the bank will charge you Interest between @3.60% per month. It means, the Annual interest is almost 43.20% per annum.
These finance charges won’t be stopped until you pay off your Credit Card outstanding balance in Full.
3. Late payment charges
Apart from Interest charges, if you delay paying this Credit card Outstanding by 1 day, you will have to pay Penalty Charges on top of your Credit card Outstanding.
Generally, the Late payment charges ranges from Minimum Rs.100/- rupees to Maximum Rs. 1,300/- depending on your Credit card outstanding. If your credit card outstanding balance is from Rs.100/- to more than Rs.50,000/- ,then you should bear Late payment charges.
So, if you use credit card you have to be very organized and should deal with Credit card timelines properly.
4. Over the limit charges
You might not have heard about these charges earlier. Let check it out.
If you spend more than available limit on the credit card. That means you have over used your Credit card. Then, you will be charged with “Over The Limit charges”.
The more you spend than your Credit card limit, the more you will be charged i.e. @2.50% on the overdrawn amount. The Minimum amount will be charged starts from Rs.550/- rupees.
Draw backs
Since this UPI Credit card is a Virtual credit card, you cannot withdraw cash.
You can use this card for any Online transactions. Also, even if you use this card and fill your vehicle with Petrol / Diesel at the fuel stations, you will not get a Fuel Surcharge Waiver.
Also, you will not get any Lounge benefit with this card either in Airports or at Railway stations.

– Indian nationals with Minimum age of 21 years and
– having monthly Salary of more than Rs.20,000/-
– with Decent CIBIL Score
are eligible to apply for this card.
For Self-Employed
