Ms. Priya, Hyderabad holds 25 gms of 1-Carat gold with her. Then how much purity of Gold she has ?
To calculate the Gold purity, let’s see with a simple division calculation.
1. On the Numerator you need to take the “Gold purity in Carats” you want to assess
In Priya’s case she holds 1 Carat Gold. It is to be taken on Numerator.
2. On the Denominator you just take the “Highest Gold Purity Standard” i.e. 24 Carats
Now, let’s see the Purity of the Gold in 1 Carat gold is
=1/24
= 4.1667%
It means the 1 Carat gold contains 4.1667% of gold.
What is 24 Carat Gold? [with Example]
The 24 carat Gold is the Highest purity of Gold. It contains 99.99% pure gold. Why it is not 100% pure. Since 24 carat gold is too delicate to maintain its shape even at its room temperature.
Let me clarify with a Simple example.

Ms. Seetha holds 100 gms weight of 24 Carats Gold coin. Then how much purity of Gold she has?

= 99.99%
It means the 24-carat gold contains 99.99% of gold.
It means the gold percentage in 24-carat Gold is 99.99% pure gold. Simply it’s 99.99% pure Gold and it is the Top-class gold as 24-carat gold does not contain any Metals.
Since it is the purest gold of all types of gold, the 24 Carat Gold price is the more costlier among other types of Gold of 22 Carats & 18 Carats of gold.
