It was designed with the specific needs of small business owners in mind; So, let’s decode whether this card is truly useful for them.
Friends, You likely know that Amazon Pay is an online payment service provider owned by Amazon.
Similarly, Kotak Mahindra Bank is a private sector bank.
Together, they have officially launched the co-branded “Amazon Pay Kotak Business” credit card. This isn’t a regular personal credit card; it is a business credit card specifically introduced for sole proprietors and small business owners registered with Amazon Business.

Now, Let’s look at the overview of this Amazon Pay Kotak Business Credit Card.
Visually, the card features a horizontal design with a brown and white color combination.
If you look at the top-left corner, you’ll see the Amazon Pay logo.
Just below that logo, you’ll find the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology indicator.
In the center of the card is the Amazon arrow symbol, and the Kotak Mahindra Bank logo appears on the top-right side. At the very bottom, you can see that the card operates on the Visa network.

Amazon Pay Kotak Credit Card Benefits
When it comes to the benefits of this Amazon Pay Kotak Business Credit Card, the first thing to discuss is the 5% cashback. This is the biggest attraction of the Amazon Pay card.
1. 5% Cashback on Amazon Business
Prime Members
If you are an Amazon Prime member, you get 5% cashback on eligible Amazon Business purchases made with this card.
Non- Prime Members
If you don’t have a Prime membership, you receive 3% cashback on those same eligible purchases.
Eligible Amazon Business Purchases
When buying through your registered Amazon Business profile as a Prime member, you get 5% cashback on the below list of items:
1. Office Supplies & Stationary: Bulk papers, printers, files, ink, and desk organizers.
2. IT & Electronics Hardware: Business laptops, monitors, networking routers, and peripherals.
3. Commercial Inventory & Raw Materials: Bulk commodities, manufacturing tools, or retail inventory sold on the business platform.
4. Corporate Gifting & Hospitality Supplies: Wholesale purchases for client gifts, employee rewards, or pantry supplies (coffee machines, snacks, etc.).
5. Janitorial & Maintenance Equipment: Cleaning chemicals, safety gear, and industrial tools.
Moreover, they are offering cashback on eligible flight and hotel bookings as well—5% for Prime customers and 3% for non-Prime customers.
B. Flight Bookings
When managing corporate Travel via the Amazon Pay platform, you will earn 5% cashback on:
Domestic Flights: All airline tickets booked within India.
International Flights: Overseas business travel bookings.
C. Hotel Bookings
Stay Accommodations: Stays at hotels, business lodges, and serviced apartments booked directly via the Amazon travel portal.
Example, a small business owner made eligible Amazon Business purchases of Rs.50,000 including office purpose of laptop, printer, accessories.
For the Prime Member: Rs.50,000 × 5% = Rs.2,500 Cashback Less Prime membership fee of Rs.1499 at present = Rs.1,001 Net benefit.
If you are a non-Prime member, you will receive ?1,500 cashback (?50,000 × 3%).
However, do not consider it a saving if you buy products that your business does not need just to get that 5% benefit.
2. Not Unlimited Cashback – Capped with Credit Limit.
Also, an important point regarding this card is that the cashback offered is not unlimited.
Amazon Pay has introduced a new calculation where the cashback limit is linked to your credit limit. According to the official announcement, cashback earnings are capped at 5% of your monthly credit limit.
For Example, your assigned credit limit of this card is ?1,00,000 . 5% of that would be: ?1,00,000 × 5% = ?5,000. This means the applicable monthly cashback ceiling is ?5,000 only.
Similarly, if your credit limit is ?2 lakhs, the corresponding 5% amount would be ?10,000.
So, do not assume the “5% Cashback” implies completely unlimited cashback; your assigned credit limit determines the cashback ceiling.
My opinion:
The Amazon Pay concept here is quite good. The idea of ??offering 5% cashback based on the credit limit is simple and convenient, as customers do not need to memorize complex limits.
3. 2% on Bills & Recharges
In a business, expenses aren’t limited to just shopping; there are recurring costs as well. That’s why you get 2% cashback when you pay for specific utility bills and mobile/DTH recharges via Amazon Pay.
You will get 2% Cashback on the below mentioned items:
1. Mobile & DTH Recharges (Prepaid and postpaid mobile connections, television recharges)
2. Electricity & Water Bills
3. Piped Gas & LPG Cylinder Bookings
4. Broadband & Landline Bills
5. Insurance Premium Payments
Suppose your eligible business-related bills/recharges total Rs.10,000 per month.
Rs.10,000 × 2% = Rs.200 Cashback.
If this pattern continues throughout the year, the theoretical value is Rs.2,400.
But remember—to get the 2% benefit, the payment must be an eligible transaction made via Amazon Pay.
4. 1% on Other Spends
You also get 1% cashback on all eligible spends made outside the Amazon ecosystem.
1. Amazon Business Spends (Procurement, office supplies, and inventory bought on Amazon)
2. Travel Bookings (Flights, hotels, and bus tickets)
3. Dining & Entertainment (Restaurant bills, catering, and movie tickets)
4. Fuel Purchases (Subject to standard surcharge waivers where applicable)
5. Other Online & Offline Spends (Any standard merchant transactions not covered by the 2% tier)
For instance, let’s say your business has Rs.30,000 in “Off-Amazon” spending—covering packaging materials, office supplies, or other eligible merchant expenses.
Rs.30,000 × 1% = Rs.300 Cashback.
So, don’t assume you’ll get 5% on every transaction just because the headline mentions 5%. The reward rate varies depending on your spending category.
5. GST Benefit – Not 18% Cashback!
Another useful feature for business owners is GST invoicing.
According to Amazon’s official announcement, Amazon Business customers can avail of GST benefits of up to 18% on eligible transactions. However, friends, do not interpret this as an extra 18% cashback.
If you have a GST invoice for an eligible business purchase and your business is eligible to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC), you may avail of the ITC benefit in accordance with applicable GST rules.
Calculating it as “5% Cashback + 18% free money = 23% Cashback” is completely incorrect. GST eligibility depends on your business, the purpose of the purchase, the invoice, and applicable tax rules.
6. Up to 48 Days Interest-Free Credit
For small-business owners, this might actually be more useful than the cashback itself.
This card offers an interest-free credit period of up to 48 days. While this is a standard feature across most credit cards, business owners should know how to use it strategically.
Suppose your shop needs Rs.50,000 worth of inventory right now, but payments from customers will only arrive in 20 days. By making the purchase with the amazon pay kotak credit card and paying the full outstanding amount by the due date, the card helps manage the cash-flow gap.
However, do not push your business into financial trouble by carrying over the balance past the due date under the mistaken impression that it is “48 days of free money”—doing so incurs finance charges.
A credit card should be used to manage business cash flow, not to accumulate debt.
7. 3-Month No-Cost EMI
Additionally, this Amazon Pay Kotak card offers a 3-month No-Cost EMI facility for eligible large business purchases.
For instance, if your business requires equipment worth ?60,000, spreading the cost over three monthly installments (for eligible purchases) can help alleviate pressure on your working capital.
However, do not forget to verify at checkout whether there are any applicable processing fees, GST, or purchase-specific terms, even with the “No-Cost EMI” offer.
8. AWS Benefit – An Important Correction
This card offering also includes AWS credits/offers for small businesses.
Simply put, AWS credits are like a digital gift card or discount voucher provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
AWS can be utilized for business needs such as AI services, cloud computing, and data storage. While a figure of Rs. 2,000 in AWS credits appears online. But the current official Amazon announcement I checked does not specify that exact amount. Therefore, please consider the current AWS benefit displayed on Amazon Business as the final reference when applying for the offer.

Amazon Pay Kotak Business Credit Card Charges?
When getting a credit card, it is important to look beyond the benefits and understand the associated charges. If you aren’t aware of these details after receiving the card, you might face unpleasant surprises later.
I previously made a video regarding credit card charges at the State Bank of India; you might want to watch it to understand the general concept, but please consider only the charges displayed here for this specific card.
The overview of the Top charges of the Amazon Pay Kotak Business Credit Card is as follows.

9. Joining & Annual Fee – Here’s an Interesting Catch
The joining fee for this card is Rs.0. However, the annual fee is Rs.499 plus applicable taxes.
To have the annual fee waived, you must make eligible annual purchases worth Rs.3 lakhs outside of Amazon (Off-Amazon purchases).
“Off-Amazon purchases” simply refers to any transaction you make outside of the Amazon website or app.
In other words, using this card anywhere other than Amazon counts as an “Off-Amazon purchase.”
The term “Off-Amazon” is crucial here.
Suppose you spent Rs.4 Lakh on Amazon Business in a year, but your eligible Off-Amazon spending was only Rs.1 Lakh.
Do not assume the annual fee will be waived just because your total spending was Rs.5 Lakh.
The official condition specifically requires Rs.3 Lakh in eligible annual Off-Amazon spending. Rs.3 Lakh per year averages out to Rs.25,000 per month in Off-Amazon spending (Rs.3,00,000 ÷ 12).
If your business naturally involves this level of spending, the waiver is useful. However, there is absolutely no need to chase a Rs.3 Lakh spending target unnecessarily just to save Rs.499.
Who is Eligible?
Core Eligibility Criteria –
Employment Type:
Self-employed individuals, Sole Proprietors, Partners, and Directors of private/public limited companies.
Age Requirement: Between 21 and 65 years.
Income Requirement: A minimum net annual income of ?4.80 Lakhs or higher (based on your latest Income Tax Return/ITR).
10. Final Verdict – My HONEST Opinion?
So, what is my final opinion on the Amazon Pay Kotak Business Credit Card ?
This card was not designed for the average salaried consumer who shops regularly on Amazon. It is designed for registered Amazon Business sole proprietors or small business owners who frequently procure business supplies through Amazon.
If you are a Prime member with significant eligible Amazon Business spending, this card could benefit you by offering a combination of 5% cashback, GST-compliant invoices, and working-capital flexibility. Just remember that the total cashback—across the 5%, 3%, 2%, and 1% categories—is capped at 5% of your total monthly credit limit. However, if your Amazon Business spending is very low, this card is not for you.
My Rating – 3 Stars – Above Average

My verdict: Heavy Amazon Business user ? Strongly consider it. For personal shopping only ? You are not the target audience for this card.
